|
Matthew 17:21 |
Howbeit
this kind goeth not out but by prayer and fasting. KJV |
This
verse is NOT in the NIV. |
It may
be that the powers behind the NIV do not want you to know this
powerful weapon against Satan. (?)
|
|
Matthew 18:11 |
For the
Son of man is come to save that which was lost. KJV |
This
verse is NOT in the NIV |
Perhaps
someday the powers behind the NIV may want you to believe someone
else (antichrist) came to save you. |
|
Isaiah 14:12 |
How art
thou fallen from heaven, O Lucifer, son of the morning! how art thou
cut down to the ground, which didst weaken the nations! KJV |
How
have you fallen from heaven, O morning star, son of the dawn! You
have been cast down to the earth, you who once laid low the nations!
NIV |
NIV
says it was Jesus Christ who was cast out of heaven. Jesus Christ is
the morning star. See Revelation 22:16 KJV or the inconsistent NIV. |
|
Isaiah 26:3 |
Thou
wilt keep him in perfect peace, whose mind is stayed on thee:
because he trusteth in thee. KJV |
You
will keep in perfect peace him whose mind is steadfast, because he
trusts in you. NIV |
In the
NIV, one's mind can apparently be on anything, just be steadfast
(steady) in your thoughts. In the KJV we know "thee" to be the Lord. |
|
Jeremiah 6:16 |
Thus
saith the Lord, Stand ye in the ways, and see, and ask for the old
paths, where is the good way, and walk therein, and ye shall find
rest for your souls. But they said, We will not walk therein. KJV |
This is
what the Lord says: "Stand at the crossroads and look; ask for the
ancient paths, ask where the good way is, and walk in it, and you
will find rest for your souls. But you said, 'We will not walk in
it.'" NIV |
NIV
says walk in the "good way," but does not tell you that the old
paths are the good way, but suggests the "ancient paths" or pagan
ways are best. Look again at KJV. Stand "in the ways" that would be
the ways of God. NIV with "crossroads" suggest many different ways. |
|
Micah 5:2 |
But
thou, Bethlehem Ephratah, though thou be little among the thousands
of Judah, yet out of thee shall he come forth unto me that is to be
ruler in Israel; whose goings forth have been from of old, from
everlasting. KJV |
"But
you, Bethlehem Ephrathah, though you are small among the clans of
Judah, out of you will come for me one who will be ruler over
Israel, whose origins are from of old, from ancient times." NIV |
The
NIV's use of "from ancient times" suggests a beginning. John 1:1-2
tells us Jesus was already "in the beginning with God." |
|
Matthew 5:44 |
But I
say unto you, Love your enemies, bless them that curse you, do good
to them that hate you, and pray for them which despitefully use you,
and persecute you; KJV |
But I
tell you: Love your enemies and pray for those who persecute you.
NIV |
For a
person to "do good to them that hate you" is one of the signs of
true love, and can only be done with the help of the Holy Spirit.
NIV leaves this admonition out. |
|
Matthew 6:13 |
And
lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil: For thine is
the kingdom, and the power, and the glory, for ever. Amen. KJV |
And
lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from the evil one. NIV |
We can
escape "the evil one" and still fall into plenty of evil. Also the
NIV rejected an opportunity to praise God and acknowledge Him as all
powerful. |
|
Matthew 16:23 |
But he
turned, and said unto Peter, Get thee behind me, Satan: thou art an
offense unto me: for thou savorest not the things that be of God,
but those that be of men. KJV |
Jesus
turned and said to Peter, "Get behind me, Satan! You are a stumbling
block to me; you do not have in mind the things of God, but the
things of men." NIV |
Dictionary defines "stumbling block"- an obstacle or impediment.
"offense" is defined - any violation of a moral or social code.
There are NO obstacles or impediments that would hinder Jesus
Christ! To imply such is blasphemy! |
|
Matthew 18:22 |
Jesus
saith unto him, I say not unto thee, Until seven times: but, Until
seventy times seven. KJV |
Jesus
answered, "I tell you, not seven times, but seventy-seven times."
NIV |
There
is a limit to the forgiveness in the NIV. Better keep count. |
|
Matthew 23:14 |
Woe
unto you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! for ye devour widows
houses, and for a pretense make long prayer: therefore ye shall
receive the greater damnation. KJV |
This
verse is NOT in the NIV. |
Possibly the powers behind the NIV see this as too harsh a language
for so profitable a business. |
|
Matthew 27:35 |
And
they crucified him, and parted his garments, casting lots: that it
might be fulfilled which was spoken by the prophet, They parted my
garments among them, and upon my vesture did they cast lots. KJV |
When
they had crucified him, they divided up his clothes by casting lots.
NIV |
It may
be that the powers behind the NIV do not want you to know that the
Prophets of old times ACCURATELY prophesied of the future.
|
|
Mark
9:29 |
And he
said unto them, This kind can come forth by nothing, but by prayer
and fasting. KJV |
Hr
replied, "This kind can come out only by prayer." NIV |
No
Power in the partial truth of the NIV. Satan can continue
unhindered. |
|
Mark
9:44 |
Where
their worm dieth not, and the fire is not quenched. |
This
verse is NOT in the NIV |
You
need to know this! It may be that the powers behind the NIV are
hiding truth from innocent folks. |
|
Mark
10:21 |
Then
Jesus beholding him loved him, and said unto him, One thing thou
lackest: go thy way, sell whatsoever thou hast, and give to the
poor, and thou shalt have treasure in heaven: and come, take up the
cross, and follow me. KJV |
Jesus
looked at him and loved him. "One thing you lack," he said. "Go,
sell everything you have and give to the poor, and you will have
treasure in heaven. Then come, follow me." NIV |
No
cross to bear in the NIV. |
|
Mark
10:24 |
And the
disciples were astonished at his words. But Jesus answereth again,
and saith unto them, Children, how hard is it for them that trust in
riches to enter into the kingdom of God! KJV |
The
disciples were amazed at his words. But Jesus said again, "Children,
how hard it is to enter the kingdom of God!" NIV |
Perhaps
the powers behind the NIV would like for you to believe that
everyone with any material wealth will have to part with it to enter
Heaven. This is not what Jesus is saying. He is referring to those
who TRUST in their wealth. |
|
Mark
11:26 |
But if
ye do not forgive, neither will your Father which is in heaven
forgive your trespasses. KJV |
This
verse is NOT in the NIV. |
The NIV
is withholding vital information regarding your Salvation! |
|
Mark
15:28 |
And the
Scripture was fulfilled, which saith, And he was numbered with the
transgressors. KJV |
This
verse is NOT in the NIV. |
The NIV
turned down an opportunity to proclaim the inerrancy of the Old
Testament Scriptures and Prophets. Which would only strengthen ones
faith that Jesus Christ is who He claims to be. |
|
Luke
1:1 |
Forasmuch as many have taken in hand to set forth in order a
declaration of those things which are most surely believed among us.
KJV |
Many
have undertaken to draw up an account of the things that have been
fulfilled among us. NIV |
The NIV
makes no mention as to the things that they BELIEVED. There is a big
difference in things being fulfilled and things being believed.
|
|
Luke
1:15 |
For he
shall be great in the sight of the Lord, and shall drink neither
wine nor strong drink; and he shall be filled with the Holy Ghost,
even from his mother's womb. KJV |
for he
will be great in the sight of the Lord. He is never to take wine or
other fermented drink, and he will be filled with the Holy Spirit
even from birth. NIV |
The NIV
presents as though the wine etc. has to be locked up to keep him
from it. Also in the NIV John did not get the Holy Ghost until later
- at birth. KJV says he received the Holy Ghost BEFORE birth! |
|
Luke
4:18 |
The
Spirit of the Lord is upon me, because he hath anointed me to preach
the gospel to the poor; he hath sent me to heal the broken-hearted,
to preach deliverance to the captives, and recovering of sight to
the blind, to set at liberty them that are bruised. KJV |
"The
Spirit of the Lord is on me, because he has anointed me to preach
good news to the poor. He has sent me to proclaim freedom for the
prisoners and recovery of sight to the blind, to release the
oppressed. NIV |
No
healing for the broken-hearted in the NIV |
|
Luke
9:56 |
For the
Son of man is not come to destroy men's lives, but to save them. And
they went to another village. KJV |
and
they went to another village. NIV |
Once
again the powers behind the NIV do not want you to know who REALLY
came to save you. Or is it maybe that they don't want you to know
you need saving? |
|
Luke
11:2-4 |
And he
said unto them, When ye pray, say, Our Father which art in heaven,
Hallowed be thy name, Thy kingdom come, Thy will be done, as in
heaven, so in earth. 3 Give us day by day our daily bread. 4 And
forgive us our sins; for we also forgive everyone that is indebted
to us. And lead us not into temptation; but deliver us from evil.
KJV |
He said
to them, "When you pray, say: "'Father, hallowed be your name, your
kingdom come, 3 Give us each day our daily bread. 4 Forgive us our
sins, for we also forgive everyone who sins against us. And lead us
not into temptation." NIV |
Who, or
what ,would the NIV have you pray to? Where is the one they call
"Father?" Whose will be done? The KJV makes it clear that we are to
pray to God in heaven and ask His will be done. |
|
John
6:47 |
Verily,
verily, I say unto you, He that believeth on me hath everlasting
life. KJV |
I tell
you the truth, he who believes has everlasting life. NIV |
The NIV
don't care WHAT you believe, just believe. Satan believes, but is
condemned to Hell. |
|
John
14:16 |
And I
will pray the Father, and he shall give you another Comforter, that
he may abide with you forever; KJV |
And I
will ask the Father, and he will give you another Counselor to be
with you forever. NIV |
KJV
says to PRAY for Comforter. NIV says ASK for a Counselor.
|
|
Acts
8:37 |
And
Philip said, If thou believest with all thine heart, thou mayest.
And he answered and said, I believe that Jesus Christ is the Son of
God. KJV |
This
verse is NOT in the NIV. |
The KJV
is giving us the requirements to being baptized. Once again the NIV
is withholding vital information. |
|
Acts
24:6 |
Who
also hath gone about to profane the temple: whom we took, and would
have judged according to our law. KJV |
and
even tried to desecrate the temple; so we seized him. NIV |
The NIV
does not reveal their intentions as to what will be done with him.
What about a legal trial? |
|
Acts
24:7 |
But the
chief captain Lysias came upon us, and with great violence took him
away out of our hands. KJV |
This
verse is NOT in the NIV. |
Perhaps
the powers behind the NIV do not want to advertise that evil can be
overpowered. |
|
Romans 8:1 |
There
is therefore now no condemnation to them which are in Christ Jesus,
who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit. KJV |
Therefore, there is now no condemnation for those who are in Christ
Jesus, NIV |
No
wonder we see so many following their own way, the NIV leaves one
with the impression that it is not necessary to abandon the flesh
and it's desires. |
|
Romans 8:28 |
And we
know that all things work together for good to them that love God,
to them who are the called according to his purpose. KJV |
And we
know that in all things God works for the good of those who love
him, who have been called according to his purpose. NIV |
The NIV
translation may not be incorrect, but certainly lacks the individual
assurance of the KJV |
|
Romans 16:24 |
The
Grace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with you all. Amen. KJV |
This
verse is NOT in the NIV |
The NIV
missed another opportunity to mention Jesus Christ as Lord, and ask
His blessing on the church. |
|
Romans 16:27 |
To God
only wise, be glory through Jesus Christ for ever. Amen. KJV |
To the
only wise God be glory forever through Jesus Christ! Amen. NIV |
The KJV
makes it plain there is none wise but God. The NIV leaves the door
open to acknowledge other "god's" but admits only one of them is
wise. This also leaves the door open to allow for "wise" people
perhaps. (?) |
|
Galatians 4:7 |
Wherefore thou art no more a servant, but a son; and if a son, then
an heir of God through Christ. KJV |
So you
are no longer a slave, but a son; and since you are a son, God has
made you also an heir. NIV |
The NIV
is attempting to by-pass Christ here. We are heirs ONLY through
Christ. No other way! |
|
Ephesians 3:9 |
And to
make all men see what is the fellowship of the mystery, which from
the beginning of the world has been hid in God, who created all
things by Jesus Christ: KJV |
and to
make plain to everyone the administration of this mystery, which for
ages past was kept hidden in God, who created all things. NIV |
Once
again the NIV would have you believe you can by-pass Jesus Christ.
See John 1:3 |
|
Ephesians 3:14 |
For
this cause I bow my knees unto the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ,
KJV |
For
this reason I kneel before the father, NIV |
The NIV
would have you kneel before father who? They also again neglect and
attempt to by-pass Jesus Christ! |
|
Philippians 1:16 |
The one
preach Christ of contention, not sincerely, supposing to add
affliction to my bonds: KJV |
The
latter do so in love, knowing that I am put here for the defense of
the gospel. NIV |
The NIV
switches verses 16 and 17. |
|
Philippians 1:17 |
but the
other of love, knowing that I am set for the defense of the gospel.
KJV |
The
former preach Christ out of selfish ambition, not sincerely,
supposing that they can stir up trouble for me while I am in chains.
NIV |
The NIV
footnote states: "Some late manuscripts have verses 16 and 17 in
reverse order." Yes, all the manuscripts have it as the KJV uses,
EXCEPT for the TWO manuscripts used by Rome, and are used by all new
translations. |
|
Philippians 4:13 |
I can
do all things through Christ which strengtheneth me. KJV |
I can
do everything through him who gives me strength. NIV |
Who is
the "him" in the NIV? Is it the anti-Christ, Satan, or whom? You
fill in the blank. This is dangerous folks. |
|
Colossians 1:2 |
To the
saints and faithful brethren in Christ which are at Colosse: Grace
be unto you, and peace, from God our Father and the Lord Jesus
Christ. KJV |
To the
holy and faithful brothers in Christ at Colosse: Grace and peace to
you from God our Father. NIV |
The NIV
seldom passes up the opportunity to ignore and by-pass Jesus Christ,
as they have done here. |
|
Colossians 1:14 |
In whom
we have redemption through his blood, even the forgiveness of sins:
KJV |
in whom
we have redemption, the forgiveness of sins. NIV |
The
powers behind the NIV know that there can be NO redemption or
forgiveness of sins without the blood of Jesus Christ! Why are they
keeping this information from you? |
|
Colossians 3:6 |
For
which things' sake the wrath of God cometh on the children of
disobedience: KJV |
Because
of these the wrath of God is coming. NIV |
The NIV
is withholding vital information again, a warning against
disobedience! |
|
1
Thessalonians 5:22 |
Abstain
from all appearance of evil. KJV |
Avoid
every kind of evil. NIV |
Big
difference here! One can be innocent of wrongdoing, but be in a
situation that makes it APPEAR he is guilty. The KJV wants us to
avoid even LOOKING guilty as well being guilty |
|
1
Timothy 3:16 |
And
without controversy great is the mystery of godliness: God was
manifest in the flesh, justified in the spirit, seen of angels,
preached unto the Gentiles, believed on in the world, received up
into glory. KJV |
Beyond
all question, the mystery of godliness is great: He appeared in a
body, was vindicated by the Spirit , was seen by angels, was
preached among the nations, was believed on in the world, was taken
up in glory. NIV |
The NIV
leaves us wondering "whose body" did Christ appear in? Also says He
was "vindicated by the Spirit" Although this word can be used here,
it is not the best word to convey Christ's' complete innocence. To be
Vindicated leaves a hint of guilt. A very different meaning than
being "justified" which is to "be free from guilt or blame." The NIV
also tells us Christ was taken up "in glory," or majestically we
could say, but where did He go? We find the answer in the KJV, He
went "INTO glory!" |
|
1
Timothy 5:9 |
Let not
a widow be taken into the number under threescore years old, having
been the wife of one man. KJV |
No
widow may be put on the list of widows unless she is over sixty, has
been faithful to her husband, NIV |
The NIV
does not care how many "husbands" she has had, but the KJV makes it
clear, "one man." |
|
2
Timothy 3:17 |
That
the man of God may be perfect, thoroughly furnished unto all good
works. KJV |
so that
the man of God may be thoroughly equipped for every good work. NIV |
The
Greek meaning of "perfect" is "to be completely qualified. To be
what they are supposed to be so they may serve their intended
purpose." The KJV suggests "being sent" while the NIV suggests
"going on one's own." |
|
James 5:16 |
Confess
your faults one to another, and pray one for another, that ye may be
healed. The effectual fervent prayer of a righteous man availeth
much. KJV |
Therefore confess your sins to each other and pray for each other so
that you may be healed. The prayer of a righteous man is powerful
and effective. NIV |
Folks
the NIV does not tell the whole story. The Greek word "Energo" is
correctly translated by the KJV as "effectual fervent" and means:
"the inspired prayer wrought by the power of the Holy Spirit." Any
prayer that comes about by the Holy Spirit is much more powerful
than any we can muster on our own. You need to know this! |
|
2
Peter 1:21 |
For the
prophecy came not in old time by the will of man: but holy men of
God spake as they were moved by the Holy Ghost. KJV |
For
prophecy never had it's origin in the will of man, but men spoke
from God as they were carried along by the Holy Spirit. NIV |
The NIV
does not tell you these were HOLY men. Also the NIV reads like the
Holy Spirit was pulling them along in a cart or some such thing.
These men were moved in their spirits! |
|
1
John 5:7 |
For
there are three that bear record in heaven, the Father, the Word,
and the Holy Ghost: and these three are one. KJV |
For
there are three that testify: NIV |
The NIV
does not tell you where these three "testify," who they are, or the
fact that "these three are one." |
|
1
John 5:8 |
And
there are three that bear witness in earth, the spirit, and the
water, and the blood: and these three agree in one. KJV |
the
Spirit, the water and the blood; and the three are in agreement.
|
The NIV
leaves out much vital information in verses 7 & 8. Among other
things missing is the fact that these three are "one." This
description in the NIV is NOT the God of the Bible!! |
|
Revelation 13:1 |
And I
stood upon the sand of the sea, and saw a beast rise up out of the
sea, having seven heads and ten horns, and upon his horns ten
crowns, and upon his heads the name of blasphemy. KJV |
And the
dragon stood on the shore of the sea. And I saw a beast coming out
of the sea. He had ten horns and seven heads, with ten crowns on his
horns, and on each head a blasphemous name. NIV |
In the
KJV we are told that John, the author of Revelation, stood upon the
sand. The NIV disputes this, saying it was Satan who stood on the
shore. Two VERY different statements. |
|
Revelation 13:10 |
He that
leadeth into captivity shall go into captivity: he that killeth with
the sword must be killed with the sword. Here is the patience and
faith of the saints. KJV |
If
anyone is to go into captivity, into captivity he will go. If anyone
is to be killed with the sword, with the sword he will be killed.
This calls for patient endurance and faithfulness on the part of the
saints. NIV |
The KJV
is talking about consequences of actions and the fact that God will
repay. It is an encouragement to those faithful that Satan will not
always have free reign. The NIV on the other hand seems to be saying
that whatever has been decided, will be carried out. Who decided?
The "court?" The "council?" You can be sure the Anti-Christ is
lurking behind the scenes. |
|
Revelation 14:1 |
And I looked, and,
lo, a Lamb stood on the mount Zion, and with him a hundred forty and
four thousand, having his Father's name written in their foreheads.
KJV |
Then I looked, and
there before me was the Lamb, standing on Mount Zion, and with him
144,000 who had his name and his Father's name written on their
foreheads. NIV |
KJV states they had
ONE name in their foreheads, God's name. The NIV states there were
TWO names, the name of the Lamb, and God's name. Now if they would
tell us; "Who is this 'Lamb' of the NIV?" |
|
Revelation 15:3 |
And they sing the
song of Moses the servant of God, and the song of the Lamb, saying,
Great and marvelous are thy works, Lord God Almighty; just and true
are thy ways, thou King of saints, KJV |
and sang the song
of Moses the servant of God and the song of the Lamb: "Great and
marvelous are your deeds, Lord God Almighty Just and true are your
ways, King of the ages. NIV |
In the KJV the
"Lord God Almighty" is King of His people, the saints. In the NIV
there is not mentioned a king of the saints, only a "king of the
ages." Sounds like God's time of authority has passed with the ages,
and he rules over no one today. |
|
Proverbs 21:14 |
A gift in secret pacifieth anger: and a
reward in the bosom, strong wrath. KJV |
A gift in secret soothes anger, and a
bribe concealed in the cloak pacifies great wrath. NIV |
Dictionary defines "bribe" - to gain influence over or corrupt by
means of a bribe. Influence a person to act dishonestly.
|
|
Proverbs 21:21 |
He that
followeth after righteousness and mercy findeth life, righteousness,
and honor. KJV |
He who
pursues righteousness and love finds life, prosperity and honor. NIV |
NIV uses "love" & "prosperity" which the
Hebrew words can be translated in this way, yet I feel the original
meaning is being compromised. |
